Alex Salemi

Director of Defense Litigation

Alex Salemi serves as the Director of Defense Litigation at the Rocky Mountain Veterans Advocacy Project, where he leads the organization’s criminal defense efforts on behalf of military veterans. He brings extensive trial experience and a deep commitment to justice for individuals facing some of the most complex and serious charges in the criminal legal system.

Since becoming a licensed attorney in 2018, Alex has built his practice around high-stakes litigation. He began his career with the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office in Arapahoe County, where he represented clients charged with everything from low-level misdemeanors to serious felonies and juvenile delinquency cases. He has successfully defended clients in both jury and bench trials, including cases involving violent offenses and habitual charges.

In private practice, Alex continued to focus on major criminal cases, including representing juveniles prosecuted as adults and clients facing significant sentencing exposure. He is known for his courtroom skill, strategic case development, and ability to secure favorable resolutions—whether through trial, negotiation, or alternative programs such as diversion and Veterans Treatment Court.

While Alex has also handled matters in family and real estate law, his core expertise lies in criminal defense. His work at RMVAP reflects his dedication to ensuring that veterans facing prosecution receive high-quality, compassionate, and fearless representation.
